Resolution passed by the Amherst Regional School Committee
on May 23, 2000.
Since May 23, the following School Committees have also adopted this resolution, thereby ensuring that it will
be on the agenda of the Mass. Association of School Committees (MASC) meeting Nov 1-4, 2000 in
Worcester. All are members of MASC:

RESOLVED: That the Massachusetts Association of School Committees opposes the use of a passing score
on the 10th grade MCAS tests as a requirement for graduation from high school and urges the Board of
Education not to link MCAS test results with the granting of high school diplomas.
