We know of parents in a number of different schools who are planning on
boycotting the test.
It is obviously more difficult for 10th grades to boycott currently
given the punitive nature of the Department of Education. Their plans to
deny a diploma, and not admit students into state colleges who fail the test and
the attempt to put the MCAS scores on student transcripts all are coercive
measures designed to punish those students who take a stand by boycotting.
